Russian Orphan Makes Return Visit to YOA

YOA Physical TherapyCANFIELD, Ohio (January 30, 2012) - Nicholai "Kolya" Denykin, now 12, returned to the U.S. with Rev. Kathryn Adams of YSU Protestant Campus Ministries for physical therapy and adjustments to the two leg prostheses he received in the Mahoning Valley in 2010.

Kolya, part of the "To Russia with Love" program, was born without legs, but in the two years since receiving prostheses he's made tremendous strides walking and even playing soccer.

Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates, who provided physical therapy and helped cover some travel expenses, hosted a reception on January 27 to visit with Kolya and celebrate his visit.
