YOA Welcomes Sarah Marsh as Certified Athletic Trainer
CANFIELD, Ohio (September 27, 2011) - Sarah Marsh, a certified athletic trainer specializing in young athlete rehabilitation, has joined the staff at Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates, the area's largest orthopedic medical and surgical practice.
Marsh earned her degree at Kent State University, where she worked in student athletics dealing with the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. This included rotations with the Kent State football, baseball, wrestling and women's soccer teams, as well as at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, allowing for enhanced training with prep athletes. Her training at Akron's St. Thomas Hospital exposed her to the Gaston Technique, an innovative treatment for soft tissue injury.
Marsh is board-certified by the national Board of Certification (doesn't seem like the right name) and licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers' Board. She is the trainer for Struthers High School sports, assisting the Wildcats with prevention and offering immediate response to injuries and illnesses during games and practice sessions.
