Medications to Stop Before Surgery
3-5 days before surgery: (confirm with your primary care physician or cardiologist)
- Eliquis
- Pradaxa
- Effient
5 days before surgery:
- Coumadin/Warfarin
7 days before surgery:
- Full strength Aspirin 325 mg
- Plavix
- NSAIDs: Meloxicam, DayPro, Naproxen, Ibuprofen, Relafen, Cataflam, Etodolac, etc.
- Herbal Supplements
- Vitamin Supplements containing fish oil, Vitamin E, or Vitamin K
You do not need to discontinue these medications:
- Baby Aspirin – 81mg
- Celebrex
- Tramadol
- Oxycodone or Hydrocodone
